Hello everyone, I'm coming out of the lurkers closet to finally respond. Took me about 15 minutes to trim the last digest. Have to find a better way. As far as finding a lace group, sometimes you have to make one! Doing your Bobbin Lace in public will help! You may attract some followers and hopefully someone who wants to learn. Then you will have a lace buddy. One local friend saw me tatting at a cultural event and wanted further instruction on bobbin lace that she had learned in Europe at a cousin's house. My othere lace buddy and I live an hour apart. In good weather she comes to my house or I go to her house. My lace group is an hour away in good weather and good traffic . Once a month we meet in Mpls. So good luck to you in the south in forming your own lace group. It may seem like hard work, but very rewarding!
