My comment:
I went to the website given previously and was able to view the available
magazines without being asked for payment. 
"Lace Express back issues are readily available for purchase at their

There are no instructions on the website, but there are 3 icons at the top.
If you click on the one that sort of looks like a book, you will see the
magazines by year. From there, you click on them to get more information. 

A note about the recent design discussion: I am not very experienced,
learning bobbin lace just since 2013. I have a few issues of Lace Express
but haven't made anything in them yet, partly because there are no hints as
to the working order of the pattern (and partly from lack of time). I have
some pattern books where there aren't written instructions, but letters are
used to designate the order to work the pattern. I find that tremendously
helpful, yet it isn't something that takes a lot of the designer's time (I
think).
