It's just a square of fabric
Edged with lace that's made by hand
For the happy bride to carry
When she gets her wedding band.

But when the day is over,
Wash and fold with care
It can become a pretty bonnet
For a new born babe to wear.

Just turn one edge over
And gather fold so neat
Some ribbons on two corners
And the bonnet is complete
