Knitting is like that, too. One more row to go. Well, maybe one more. Well, why
stop now. LOL

Subject: [lace] Tatters

Tatters are a different breed --
The things we hope for, the things we need.
We wish for thread to finish that row,
We sometimes wish our guests would go.

We wait all day for that time to be --
That special time -- that time for ME.
Each shuttle and needle is threaded, the colors arrayed,
Scissors and pattern have been carefully laid.

Now we relax, this is our pleasure --
Tatting this piece of soon-to-be treasure.
We always ignore that mental warning --
Tatting all night makes it rough in the morning.

But time's unimportant, we don't heed clocks --
We just need thread and a sewing box.
Our project awaits us, now we proceed,
This must be heaven -- what more could we need!

i do not know who the author of this is/was. i have had this for about 40
years. i think it can apply to bobbin lace makers too. Enjoy!

Hugs, Lin and the Mali
