Regarding Susan Hottle's enthusiastic response to discovery (in Ithaca New York) of two Rosaline Perle books by Judith Cordell - they are helpful not only to makers of this bobbin lace, but also for explaining to collectors how this lace is constructed.  The contemporary floral motifs and projects are charming, and the step-by-step instructions are clear.  Only 14 bobbins are required to work these motifs, and there are no thread ends to deal with.  The photos and explanations of how to make the tiny perles with a threaded needle (not bobbins) are particularly interesting.  Yes, they do resemble pearls.  These, by-the-way, might be used in original ways on other laces or embroideries.  Cordell's first self-published book was printed in 2011, ISBN 978-0-9570698-0-0.  The second has a date of 2016.  (ISBN below, in Susan's note.)  An address, with photos:  http://www.beadandlacecreations.co.uk/   Jeri Ames in Maine USA Lace and Embroidery Resource Center  In a message dated 10/20/2017 9:37:48 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes:
