being able to read the prickings of a lace pattern is like being able to read a music score This is somewhat how I 'think'. I didn't at first but after a few years (I have been lacing for some 30 yrs. now), I can look at the pricking and 'see' the lace to be made on it. I like to encourage my students that this will some day happen for them too. The first big 'aha' moment is when they can 'see the mistake' and stop to correct it.
