I did see her at Ithaca and could see she really was struggling but yet she was so glad to be in Ithaca for the lace event earlier month.  Marion was a very talented person. She was in my lace class with Mary Shields a few years ago. I saw her beautiful Carrickmacross Lace which was so beautiful. I have some of her bobbins that she beautifully carved like the bearded knome face bobbins. I have a pair of those made from the long square bobbins I use when making Milanese Lace. I have a beautiful bone carved lizard bobbin I bought from her last year and earlier this month I bought from her her beautiful scrimshaw bone Midland Hedgehog and spangle to match bobbin. All beautifully made!! A few years ago in the silent raffle I won her beautiful scrimshaw with beads. I am not home right now because my daughter's family has also gone through family members passing. I am at their house right now watching and taking care of the grandkids. They had to go to Tenn. and Illinois. I bought just one pillow with me to work on and that pillow has my Binche lace in progress on it.  So sorry to hear about Marion but am so glad to have been able to see her this month. I want to thank those that made it possible for Marion to be able to attend Finger Lakes Lace weekend event in Ithaca, New York. I know she wanted to be there. I will miss her.Sherry TownsendCanandaigua, New YorkÂ

Marion served as the Southern Regional Director for IOLI, and she was past president of the Jacksonville Florida Lacers. The lace world will miss her happy heart.
