My bobbins arrived today & I am thrilled! John Aebi kindly made a few pairs of
Downton, Devon & Malmesbury bobbins to go with my lace samples so I posted pics
to Arachne Flickr. The Downton ones are bird's eye maple--spotted, sort of like
the nitric acid/Aqua Fortis effect. Way cool. The others are a variety of woods
(lilac, persimmon, satinwood, citrus & apple) & very smooth. Even my husband
