Dear Arachne friends, I am teaching beginning Torchon to a Chinese woman who speaks no English. We are both doing well, but would do even better if I could find a *lacemaker* who could read and write Chinese. Specifically I need to get the *written form* for some lace-specific terms. If that goes well, I would also hope this person would proof-read my weekly lesson plans (broken down into simple sentences) and make corrections to whatever Google Translate may have mangled. I don't need to be able to pronounce anything; if I can copy and paste the characters, that will be enough.
Once we get these lace terms hammered out, I do plan to submit them to the OIDFA Lace Translator for inclusion so the next Chinese student will not have this particular hurdle. Lastly: I get the Arachne list in digest form. Sometimes it is weeks between postings. So please, if you know someone who may be of help, be sure to include me in a separate email so I will get the information promptly.
