I have spent part of today sewing a Milanese Hummingbird (Louise Colgan
pattern) onto the high shoulder of a new top. I didn’t actually make this
one although I did make it, mine was given to my Mother). This one was a gift
to me via the Arachne exchange a number of years ago. I had this lace sewn on
to another item of clothing for years which was rarely used, but enjoyed when
I did, so now have it on a normal clothing item which can be worn by me any
time and it looks good. But now that is done I have the desire to make a
similar size lace Dragonfly and sew that on to another top. I have made one
or two other items before to achieve this but not the right choices so still
sitting in a box somewhere which is sad.
Do any of you lovely lace makers know of a bobbin lace dragonfly pattern up to
3 inches across the wingspan, but not honiton as this is not a lace I have
made. I have a pattern for a torchon dragonfly but it is too big for the job
I want it to do. But I am wondering if I could reduce it and try.
Any advice, help out there to point me in the right direction? Does anyone
know if Louise has designed a dragonfly please? or any of he other ones. So
many I dont have all the books or seen many of them either.
