One of my more recent favourite spots is in front of the big window at my IL's that looks to the west and has a wonderful view of Mount Evans (one of our fabulous 14'eers in Colorado). Sometimes it's a little distracting when the deer come in (and up to the window) or when the foxes amble by :-)
At home I love it on our back deck - it's on the western side of the house, but the roof extends beyond the deck and we have some nice shade during the early afternoon.
