Hi folks, I have a lacemaking friend visiting relatives in Cairns, northern Queensland, in the Autumn, and she was wondering at class last night if there would be any lacemakers in that area who she could contact when she goes out? I would be pleased to pass on details to her if anyone would like to contact me.
My own visit to Spain in April was greatly enhanced by the details given me by Carolina la Guardia and Jenny deAngelis through Arachne; I'm currently held up by my technology from writing a proper report on it, but inside knowledge made a huge difference, and I'm most grateful to both of them. The visit was fascinating, and to see thousands of lacemakers lining the sea front at Lloret de Mar for the Catalunya lace day was tremendously exciting. Never thought I'd be lucky enough to see it, so it was a trip of a life-time for me, and I'd like to pass on my thanks to Carolina and Jenny. Something that interested me last night was that none of my students knew Arachne; so I'll take a print out in to the next class. My purple OIDFA bobbin arrived intact; thanks to all concerned.
