Just a short addendum to Amanda's posting - the museum's website is not that
helpful
http://www.dudley.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/museums--galleries/dudley-museum--art-gallery
 - the actual address and phone number are St. James's Rd, Dudley, DY1 1HP -
01384 815575, and I would suggest directions from Multimap in the usual way.

If you are extending your day to Stourbridge, why not pop into the Hollies as
well as the glass museums. It opens at 10;00, with "last entries" at 3:00. The
current exhibition is recent acquisitions. If you are visiting Monday to
Thurs, please ring first 01384 390739 - other contact details on web site, of
course, www.laceguild.org. Friday is "open day" with no need to announce your
visit, but it would be as well to do so if your party is of 5 or more people.

Details in "Lace" of course, but non-members are welcome to visit, and can even
leave the premises without joining!

[EMAIL PROTECTED] currently in London, but looking forward to the preview on
Friday, when I'm probably going to have the honour of circulating with a tray
of nibbles (may not be trusted with full glasses after last time...)

Subject: [lace] Lace Guild Exhibition - Seven

Dear All,

The exhibition of the entries for Seven opens this Saturday 14th July. This
year there were 194 entries and it wasn't easy for the judges to decide
class, medal and trophy winners. As usual there is a wonderful mix of
traditional lace (though not as much as in previous years) and amazing
contemporary lace, come and wonder at the line of lace undies (7 pairs), the
beautiful lamp from Australia, the amusing seven Blackfriars fishing, lots
of seven swans a swimming, even more rainbows, quite a few samurai (as in
seventh), a miniature up can (with permission), 2 exquisite parasols, a
seven course meal, some wonderful pictures and so much more. Lace types
range from bobbin through tatting, crochet, needle and knitted. As usual
there were entries from around the world and from all ages (youngest 7 years
old) and experience.

Please do come and see it, the exhibition runs until 15th September and can
be found at the Dudley Museum and Art Gallery in the centre of Dudley.
Opening times are Monday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm and entry is free.

Once you've viewed the exhibition then wander down the road to Stourbridge
and take in some of the Glass museums in the area, make a full day of it.

Thanks
Amanda
