Hi All

I too am a 'lefty'... My bobbins are wound clockwise (as david says, look down on the head of the bobbin and the yarn goes clockwise.) The hitch is made with the forefinger behind the bobbin, then the thread wraps around the finger from left to right and back over itself in front of the finger and behind the bobbin. Then just flip it over onto the top of the yarn. (Half hitch for the nautical minded....) This is the method I was shown, and it works for me!!

Had to sit and think this out whilst winding 27 pairs of bobbins for a 'practice' mat with lots of spiders on it!! gave up on leaves, they don't work for me (Yes Margot, I will practice more, till I get 'perfect') but they are going to be few and far between just yet!! It was probably the crossing in the middle I got wrong.... Agnes, don't forget your paper and pencil next week!!

I must get out more!!

Regards

Sue in East Yorkshire.
