1) I have seen a map where Australia is up top, and the rest of you are
Down Under!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gives the world a Whole new perspective!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :))
Mind you, - I am originally English, but have been 'hanging on by my toes'
for the last 47 years, so am getting used to being upsidedown!!!!!!!!! :))
:))
2) Re Interlibrary Loans - I borrowed Santina Levey's "Lace: A History"
some years ago on Interlibrary Loan. They had to get it from the State
Library, I think - (or maybe the National Library) for me, but the system
worked and it cost me about $1 - and I had the book for 3 weeks, plus one
renewal - so for 6 weeks all up. Wonderful.
Hmm! Might try that again, as it is such a wonderful book.
3) Re Liers, Tambour, and Limerick laces - Liers and Tambour are similar,
as far as I know, and Coggershall is another variation. It is Crocheting on
net (still on my to do list!), but Limerick is darning on net using a
needle, not a crochet hook.
Carrickmacross is the other well known Irish lace - applique on net.
