Happy New Year to everyone.
I would like to know the best way of sewing filet lace to fabric. I use the
Leno net - the woven net, so technically my lace is Buratto lace!
I would like to make some squares of lace, and sew them into fabric (or sew
them onto squares of fabric) to make a tablecloth, or table runner, with the
lace and fabric in alternate squares.
I have seen this done with reticella lace, and I have seen pictures of it
done with filet lace - but I can see that the net would have rather more
difficulties than the trace of a reticella square. I fear the lace might
pull away from the fabric if it is just buttonhole stitched onto the fabric
, and then the excess cut away.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful to receive them! I
have no access to old lace to see for myself, so ask for help with this one!
