Before I was a lacemaker, I was (and still am) an avid needleworker. I love
cross stitch, specialty stitches, drawn thread, pulled thread, etc. Last
summer I even tried my hand at stumpwork! But "free style" forms of stitching
like stumpwork and crewel are not in my comfort zone as much as the counted
thread techniques. So it goes to reason that my favorite laces are also a
little more "structured" (for lack of a better word). I like knowing exactly
where the pins go!

Over the years I've also dabbled in crochet (afghans in college), quilting (2
quilts), and weaving (the loom has been gathering dust for years now, sadly).
I'm not a knitter or spinner, and at this stage of my life I really don't need
any more hobbies/distractions!

Now that spring is here, it's time to get out the lace pillow and start a new
Binche project. [I've realized the last couple of years that I tend to do
other things, like genealogy, in the winter months.] Currently I'm considering
Anny's Panda design or maybe the fruit. Or should I do one of the Hoop
pieces???
