Laceweight is a fairly undefined term in knitting, as it is anything finer than
fingering/sock/4ply yarn. The very finest laceweight is called cobweb.

I do not remember the exact wraps per inch (wpi) which is often employed to
further define yarn thickness, (nor weights, which vary from cotton to wool,
etc.) but if memory serves, laceweight would be anything in #10 thread or finer
(in thread comparison).

I haven't read all of the posts so apologize in advance if this has been
responded to already.

Best,
Susan Reishus
