Rosemary Shepherd's "Introduction to Bobbin lacemaking" is very good - not
sure of it's ready availability or price though.

I think any verbage you use, Alice, should be kept simple and
straightforward. Many people these days want to cut to the chase and not
have to figure out what is being said. You could simply suggest that people
come and try the timeless craft of bobbin lacemaking, and that there is a 4
week introductory course being offered (or however many sessions). I
wouldn't say anything about how easy it is or how simple, because there's
always the person that doesn't feel that way about it (and yes, it's
personal choice as to how they choose to respond or react), and if they
don't find it easy straight up, they may get miffed and you've lost them for
good (which can happen anyway). Yes, it's easy for us - coz we do it a lot,
and have done it for years. Some people don't find it easy, and for them
perseverance is the ticket if they don't get so frustrated they give up.

Good luck with your venture.

Cheers,
Helen, Aussie in Denver
