(snip) My copy of Jenny Rees' lovely new
book "Lace from the Australian bush" arrived in my mailbox on Saturday.

I understand that Jenny has been working to establish suppliers for it in
the US, and I think it's going to be available imminently.

It's a glorious book! Clear instructions, beeee-ewwwwwtiful patterns and illustrations! Gobsmackingly gorgeous stuff so I can only agree with you about the book.

I saw Jenny today and having read your email before I set out to the meeting, I asked her if she'd lined up US suppliers. She's done that as well as other suppliers round the world so I got details so I could let others know. This is the list of suppliers:
Barbara Fay Books
Heikina de Ruijter
Lacy Susan
Larkholme
Roseground
Van Scriver Bobbin Lace
In Oz, Jenny will supply direct, (and I think she's a member of Arachne so I'd rather she gives her email details here if she's not being too modest about producing such a wonderful book) or
Kiparra Lacemaking Supplies
Torchon House.

And just so you know - it's not a book for the novice lacemaker. Trust me
when I say you need sound skills in torchon as well as knowing some point
ground, as Jenny has deviously incorporated bucks point skills to make the
lace do what she wants it to do. It has really clear working diagrams as
well as some excellent technical notes. I'm re-evaluating my torchon
capabilities after looking through the book :-)

I'd consider myself to be a bit of a muggins when it comes to lace but even I managed to finish one of the pieces Jenny has in the book so it can't be all that difficult if I can do it. I did one of the small oval patterns with the gum leaves in it a couple of years ago and was absolutely thrilled with it.

I'm itching to do the Waratah hankie edging. That design makes me wonder why I'm working on yet another fan when I could be doing that.
