I have the first Canadian edition of this book; it was bound in Toronto
from sheets printed in England and shipped over. It is also undated but
has the 1909 sale data you mention, and that is the latest date
included in the book.
In my work I examine a lot of old books. With older books, sometimes
the year listed for publication will be earlier than the date the book
was actually printed, and you can get the sort of situation we have
here where the official publication date is 1908 but the first edition
includes sales data from 1909. It's not uncommon, and it doesn't
necessarily mean you have a later edition.

Hi,
I've just obtained a first edition of this book which is quite
fascinating. Does anyone know when it was published? Looking on the
Internet give publication date of 1908 but the book refers to a sale
in 1909.
Thanks
