Please don't shoot the messenger. I was merely trying to answer whomever's question about if National Guilds publish membership lists for members. My intent wasn't to blame either ALG or the Feds. Privacy laws are a fact of life and they serve a purpose.
We have them here in the US, and frankly, I don't like to have my contact/personal info freely distributed without my permission (permission is somewhat implicit, though, when you are a member of a Group like IOLI or ALG or a state group) - especially when it comes to junk mail. I DID however make a pointed note about my home state's Committee in Australia, and their lack of courtesy to reply to an emailed question I sent to the Committee. The email was read and was never responded to by either the President or the Secretary of the State Branch. It is a poor reflection on the Guild and those on the Committee who do work hard and show due diligence to their Committee position and treat the members with simple courtesy.
