l agree with Tamara and Alex
l have taught Arts and Crafts for many years and that has been my mantra to
learn the techniques and rules and then develope your own style. The rules
are there to guide you not to restrict the student atists/ craftsperson.

Hear! Hear! I, too, find it's perfectly OK to "break the rules" if you're
doing it on purpose and *for* a purpose. But first, you need to know what
the standard is...
