Just going back to this fun thread -

I have a couple of lovely bone bobbins that have a cloisonné insert. I
think I bought them over here in the US, but it would've been early 90's.
Anyone have any ideas on who made them?

There was also - and this is really stretching my memory a lot - a little
shop in Windsor, UK that sold some bobbins, and it seems like I picked up
some lovely ones there in 1989 I think. I'm having a hard time remembering
what they were like (maybe one of them was horn?) - but I think one is my
'swiss cheese' and jingles bobbin - it's ebony, with a bone (I think)
pierced insert, and has about 5 jingles on it. Has a very long neck. Don't
know if it was a Malcolm Fielding bobbin or not. I have a couple by the
same maker - silky smooth finish, fine bobbin, and a distinctive head. The
English members of the list might know the shop I mean and the bobbin maker
I'm referring to.

I also have one or 2- that have a nice squared ceramic insert in the body of
the bobbin. Don't know who the maker of those was, but they're nice.

Cheers,
Helen in soggy Duvall, WA.
