Just cut the lace - it's hard to take scissors to your lace in that way, but
that's what they used to do on cutting off day.  Several other posts have
given some really good advice for how to finish the ends, but I absolutely
wouldn't be using Fraycheck on the ends.  Lapping them over and stitching
them down or ending them in the seam-line would be the best.  It shouldn't
come unraveled too much.
