Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. I learned a few new things...as I
always do on anything having to do with Arachne...and had a few good
conversations with people by e-mail before I figured out the Reply to All
thing. ; )
Thanks for all of the info, too, on the various camps, lace days and
conferences. Already put on the calendar at work to take off for the Ithaca
Lace Days in October. Wish I had more time...I'm finding that there are a
lot of events within easy driving distance...and my car is great on gas. ; )
Susan...I love the Lacemaker Shop...she's about an hour and a half
away...but since she closes for most of the summer, I don't get there very
often.
I do belong to the Western Reserve Lace Society that meets in Brecksville.
They're a wonderful group, and I'm forever indebted to Sue and Chris for
their patience when it comes to helping me figure out things.
It's wonderful to be connected with so many wonderful lacemakers.
Thanks.
Peg

Subject: [lace] lace resources & lacy stamps
Hello All! It was so nice to hear from Peg in Fairview Park. I hope this
means we will be seeing "you" at some of the workshops later this summer &
fall. Do check out www.lacemakerusa.com under events for info on Tonder &
Honiton dates. Also Pittsburgh Lace Group is having a summer camp plus
Deborah Beever is coming in the fall. Lots to choose from if you want to
have fun & make lace at the same time. The Enclave guild meets in
Cortland, OH & there used to be a guild up around Brecksville although I
don't know any contacts up there. As to lace resources, where I live in
Erie, Pennsylvania it IS like toiling away in the wilderness without Moses
to lead! Lace of any kind is not a tradition here, nor in many other
parts of the US, so internet based resources have been a godsend when my
"state" may be larger than your whole "country". Many miles separate us
while a lack of public transportation & high fuel prices conspire to keep
us in our place. No hopping the train &! taking a day jaunt to the V&A or
The Hollies!!
