Dear Lacemakers,
if this has been discussed before, my apologies.
I've only just discovered it, and have found it so clearly written and so well illustrated that I just had to share it.

The "Identify Lace" Booklet is from a workshop called "Identifying hand-made and machine lace 1750-1950" given on Thursday 21 February 2008 by Jeremy Farrell. It can be downloaded as a free pdf file.
Go to this website

and click on the "Resouorces" tab.

'Dress and Textile Specialists' (DATS) is the website of a UK Museum Subject Specialist Network for those working with... "specialist collections of fashion, dress and textiles".

You may also be interested in the list further down that page of "Dress and Related Collections in Great Britain" with addresses and weblinks.

Linda Walton,
(in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, U.K., where I'm looking forward to even more web surfing).
