When I was in the Cech Republic in 2004, the instructor had a bolster pillow
(about 8 inches in dia.) that sat on an interesting stand.It was about 30
inches tall (the correct height for her to work seated) and looked like a
wooden 'bar stool' with out a seat, it just had the 4 legs upper ends
extending. the legs were positioned at an angle so the top ends were closer
together (about 6-8 inches apart) than the foot end on the floor. It also had
cross braces and the upper ones held a square shelf/tray about 6-8 inches
below the pillow.The pillow could be positioned in a variety of ways;
horizontal to vertical , allowing the lacer to do any pattern that would fit
on the pillow, edging or round/square. It was amazing to see the lacer
working on them. Some lacers also had a table top version. Lorri
