Honiton is not a lace I tackle very often, but I have enough bobbins to do small projects, and looking at my photos of them, I see that I have some from different makers that have a flatter head and some are spherical (possibly only his bone Honiton bobbins had a spherical head). I haven't made Honiton for some time, but I don't recall having issues with either type of bobbin head and threads not remaining hitched onto the bobbin.
