At home I use a (I think) laptop table from Ikea called 'Dave'  (or Dav?).
It's about US$20, has adjustable height and a tilting top (if you so
desire).  It's a good size for all of my pillows, and being a triangular
top, there's usually a little room on a corner to place stitch holders or
pencils not being used.  I like that it's pretty sturdy, but with the
arrangement of the feet, tucks to the side in my lacemaking spot neatly.
I've tilted it when using my cookie pillows on it, and I keep it flat when
using my roller pillow.

When I'm out, I take my folding lace table that I bought 20+ years ago in
Australia.

No ties to Ikea, just a contented customer.
