That happens quite a bit, I think, Lorelei. I'm working on a project at the
moment that doesn't quite match the photo sample - it's plus and minus legs
in places. Another class project I started with Jean Leader last weekend
has differences between the 2 versions of the pricking in 2 different books
- also plus and minus legs in places, and minus a lot of picots but they did
correct a missing row of leaves in the later version of the pricking.

Different workers will solve the same problem in different ways, and
sometimes 1 pair more or less than the sample can change how the problem is
solved. I'd use the picture as a guide only, and let your threads and
pillow guide you to a solution, rather than try to force the pillow to do
what the lines on paper 'tell' you to do. The great thing about Beds (or
the really frustrating thing, depending on your point of view), is that
there are multiple solutions to a problem, and in the end, go for what makes
a strong join/connection or piece of lace, and what looks right. Beds
borrows from lots of different laces, so there are plenty of options to
choose from at times.

Your piece looks really nice :-)

Cheers,
Helen, Duvall, WA
