I have been too preoccupied in a number of things to participate in the Ornament exchange this year, but I just want to say that when I finally decorated our tree this year (smaller, by far, than in years past...), I was able to use *only* ornaments of great meaning and beauty, and among those were two lovely ornaments from previous exchanges... Both made by Alice Howell (US). The Angel at the top of my tree is a lace Angel made by Alice, and there is another of a lovely glowing candle. The only other ornaments on my tree are (regionally) blown art-glass, and brass filigree commemorative ornaments depicting local landmarks which I've collected over the years to support a local non-profit which provides funding to program which was called "Crisis Line", but has now expanded to include a wider range of support, particularly to women who are victims of violence. The simplicity of the blown glass along with the brass commemoratives is surprisingly elegant, and makes up in! meaning what a tree double this size has meant in the past.
Thank you, again, Alice! Your ornaments, as well as your darling skiing family (in lace), continue to be such a cheerful part of my Holiday decorations!
