The 2 that I have and go back to are "Starting needlepoint lace" by Valerie Grimwood and "Needlelace: designs and techniques" by Catherine Barley. Both are excellent, and I find they complement each other in some respects (and I'm not a very proficient needlelacer :-) ).
There's also a very neat little one put out by the UK Lace Guild whose title escapes me at present, but is also a useful resource.
