Brilliant idea, years ago I attended a Physics conference in Tasmania in July (mid winter), the State Governement gave the organisers a subidy for all attendees, airfares were cheaper, and the locals loved it from the taxi drivers through to the food outlets and tourist operators. Yes many of us stayed on after the conference. Organising something in the 'off season' means that many businesses can stay open, a few more jobs happening and win win all around.

Anna from Sydney and yes another beautiful Autumn day

I expect most of us do the majority or our lacemaking in the
cooler months, so could we consider holding conferences in the off-season
months of April, May, October or November?
