twit.el for Emacs works reading posts (except UTF-8 display), but I
didn't get posting to work yet.

Ack.

Because it (probably) was the first Laconica instance and (probably)
the reason why Laconica was written in the beginning. :-)

Yeah. But somehow I have the feeling that it doesn't matter or even is
good that way.
Identi.ca is what the mass primarily sees and uses. So why not use it
for marketing?
It's like Slashdot and Slashcode. Nobody knows Slashcode (short
"Slash": "Slashdot Like Automated Story-telling Homepage", both names
are used), but it's the software that powers Slashdot.
If I want to tell someone that I run a site with Slashcode (a so
called Slashsite :-), I ask that person first "Do you know Slashdot?"
and if the person answers "yes", I say "I run a site based on the same
software". It's the easiest way. Slashdot and Identi.ca are the
well-know brands. Slashcode and Laconica are "just" the software
behind those sites and can be and is used by others, too.
Regards, Axel
