Hi everyone,

I just joined the mailing list and hope I can contribute a bit to this
great project. I'll spend the next weeks looking at Laconi.ca as an
option to create a corporate 'twitter' inside a company, this would be
a self-hosted open-source alternative to tools like Yammer. I'll
report on my progress here and will happily share the code when done.
I'm open to suggestions on best way to proceed, maybe some of you
already have done similar things ?

I now have Laconica working in the lab and I'll try to change it in
order to have to following features :

- Registration open to only users from a given email domain (I will
need to add email verification in this process)
- No public pages at all, users must be logged in to see the content
(need a deep dive in the authorization bit for this)
- RSS would stay public but using obfuscated links
- https
- Striping down a few features (no need for the sms, xmpp, openid, etc
for now...)
- Adding a few features (extending the profile to support company
related fields)

I must admit that this mailing list engine is a pain to search
through, so I didn't search extensively to see if this topic was
already discussed. Apologize if this is redundant !

Looking forward interacting with the laconi.ca dev community,

Cheers,

-Laurent
