Thank you Evan and Adrian. Actually I logged in as A, and went to B's
profile and clicked the subscribe button. Not sure why the server thought I
logged in between these two steps.

I figured out another way to get it work by search the username of B and
click the subscribe button in the result list.

Today I found another problem, I configured the informaiton of jabber and
try to start the daemon, but I got the following error:

Fatal error:call to undefined function pcntl_fork() in
c:\xampp\htdocs\laconica\lib\daemon.php on line 33.

Is that because I am running it in Windows?
