I have installed Laconi.ca behind my corporate firewall and am
successfully using twibble to post to the site. However, when I use
some other clients, most notably Twhirl and YATCA (Blackberry), some
characters get consistently replaced by asterisks. When I view these
posts in other clients (web or twibble) they show up just fine. Has
anyone else seen behavior like this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

This has happened before; I think it's a few characters. Zach, do you
remember what the deal is here?
It could be that the version of PHP Al is using is compiled against an
old version of PCRE that doesn't support some of our regular expressions.
