Is that a rhetorical question, with the expectation that nobody has the
answer? Or do you really want to know?
This has the effect, that all uris have to be updated manually when
changing the systems hostname.
Nobody changes this stuff for the same site more than once or twice.
Usually they implement on a test server and then push it to a production
server. Occasionally they move to a different production server.
I'd be happy to add a tool to update profile and avatar URLs when you
change server name and/or path.
It's debatable whether you should ever change the notice and user URIs.
They are, after all, supposed to be universally unique, persistent
identifiers.
