*UPDATE: 15355 W Sherman Way* An approximate 60 y/o male entered a Starbucks coffee shop bathroom. Shortly thereafter bystanders heard an explosive sound in the area and the patient staggered from the bathroom engulfed in flames, and collapsed near the front entrance. Patrons assisted in extinguishing the flames. Firefighters rendered immediate medical aid and rapidly transported the patient to a local hospital in critical condition. The burns appear to be self inflicted and cover 90% of his body. LAFD Arson Section is actively investigating the incident and the surrounding circumstances. - Erik Scott###
