Nevermind. LAM was behaving erratically so I decided to remove the
package, purging the configuration files. After reinstalling,
everything is smooth. I haven´t tried without the script you sent
me, but it may be working fine.
Bottom line, updating to 3.6 from 3.1 using dpkg -Gi leads to an
unstable installation of lam.

By the way, I´ve noticed in version 3.6 that menus get a little
bit disorganized. It doesn´t affect usability at all, but I´m
attaching snapshots from the 3 browser I have installed, in case
you´re interested.
