Hi Roland

Upon further investigation this appears to be isolated to one specific Windows
XP Pro VM I was using for testing.

I tested domain logins on another XP Pro VM, and one other physical Windows XP
Pro machine and the "forced password change on every login" problem did not
exist.

I even removed the problematic VM from the domain and then re-added it, and
the problem persisted for all users logging into that specific machine.

I am also having roaming profile issues with it e.g. Roaming profiles simply
are not working when this machine is in this new LDAP-backed domain, but they
work fine when this machine is in another, older Samba domain on another
server/network.

Roaming profiles also appear to work for my other test machines in the new
LDAP-backed Samba domain.

So these issues appear to be machine specific and have NOTHING to do with
Samba, LDAP, nor LAM.

I have once again wasted 3 days of my life fighting with what is probably just
another random Windows registry corruption issue.

I am so sorry for bothering you with this nonsense and appreciate your
concern, all of your help, and how much work you have, and continue to put
into LAM.
