Hi Roland, list,

First of all: we're very happy lam users: thank you. Next month I will talk
about LAM (among many other things) on a global ICT conference of the
institute where I work in Tokyo. Perhaps in future other offices will also
migrate to ldap based networks, and could have a use for lam..

Anyway: Below are not so much questions, but more feature/enhancement
requests...

-- first:
The lam configuration currently always requires (as far as i know...?) the
specific lam configuration password. (but perhaps this is not so..?)

First enhancement request: would it be possible to allow specific ldap
accounts and/or groups access to the 'lam configuration'..? That way the
specific lam master password would only be required when regular ldap
access is down..? (as an 'rescue/emergency' logon option)

Basically I'm asking for the same kind of logon options as the regular lam
has, were you can select a list of 'valid users'.

-- second:
When selecting 'lam configuration' from the main page you get the three
options (general, server profiles, self service), and each of those options
require the (same) password logon. If some config is not under the first
menu item, and you try the second, you need to logon again. (and again, and
again)

So, second request: would it be possible to authenticate first, immediately
after clicking 'lam configuration' from the main menu, and only THEN see
the three menu options, and be able to click them without logging on again.

-- third:
Combination of the two above: when a lam ('valid user') logs on, and this
person is also listed as a 'master configuration user', create an extra top
menu called 'lam master configuration'. This way, everything you are
allowed to do in lam would be available under a single logon.

-- fourth: (and last...)
Is it possible to run the 'self service' on a different port..? That way
only that specific port would have be opened from outside, and the rest
could be safe behind our firewall.

Again: thanks for making lam available.

Regards,
Mourik Jan
