since lots of users asked for this feature there is a configuration
option available. :)
You can find it in your LAM server profile on tab "Module settings" in
the Unix area. It is called "Set primary group as memberUid".

For groups tab click on the screwdriver symbol and check "Show primary
group members as normal group members".

I am not sure if 3.6 includes this option. You might need to upgrade LAM.
