thanks for your support, the debug option was very helpful:
It turns out LAM self service considers an E-mail address with a + sign in
the username part being invalid - but only in the very last step after
clicking the link, before having the possibility to change the password.
Log entry is:
2016-02-22 19:31:35: LDAP Account Manager (geumkp3e67cm78vf96mef52pe3 -
212.60.217.xx) - ERROR: Invalid mail: mail [email protected]
The space between mail and hshb was a + sign in the forms and in the LDAP
record.
Having a + sign in the username part is very common with gmail addresses,
because gmail ignores all characters after the + sign. So you can use
different mail adresses with different services, but only one gmail account.
