LAM can reuse HTTP authentication from the webserver. But this requires that user AND password are provided by the webserver. LAM needs this to connect to the LDAP server. https://www.ldap-account-manager.org/static/doc/manual/apbs07.html#apache_http_auth This will not work if the Apache module provides nothing that can be used to authenticate on LDAP side.
