I took the 10 day pic ifr course to obtain my instrument rating in november
2000.  for someone with a busy schedule(and impatient personality)  this type
of instruction is the only way to go. I felt that it gave a great fundamental
knowledge of instrument flight.  it is a great way to get your ticket and as
a springboard to allow you to fly ifr and continue your education. however,
do not expect to feel comfortable flying to minimums at the end of 10 days. I
used the king cd rom course(well done but boring) and did quite well on the
written with a decent understanding of the material. good luck with your
instrument training.
