Slavistics recognizes Slovincian as a language system on the same level as Kashubian is. Traditionally, both of them are treated as "outer dialects of Polish". If I remember well, unlike Kashubians and Poles and like Sorbs, Slovincians had closer inter-Slavic connections with South Slavs. However, the language is extinct.
