I agree. the converter is definitely enough. it is not really used by
many people fr everyday business:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jawi_script
"As the public educational system stopped producing Jawi texts, Jawi
literature printed by private companies became dominant. Most privately
produced Jawi textbooks were targeted at Islamic schools, and their
contents were more conservative than in the former public school
textbooks. This shift in usage led to Jawi becoming closely associated
with Islam and Malay identity, with Rumi replacing its use for
non-religious purposes. Over time, the use of Jawi in Malaysia became a
sensitive issue. Some view attempts to promote Jawi as Islamisation or
Malay chauvinism. Conversely, some view Jawi as a religious script that
should not be used by non-Muslims.[20]"
and
"Today, Jawi is one of the official scripts of Brunei.[17] In Malaysia,
it is used for religious and cultural administration in the states of
Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah, Perlis, Penang, Pahang and Johor.[citation
needed] Various efforts were in place to revive the Jawi script in
Malaysia and Brunei due to its role in the Malay and Islamic spheres.
Jawi is also seen on the reverse of Malaysian ringgit and Brunei dollar
banknotes. "
All in all, I am afraid this topic has the potential to become
politicized here on Wikimedia, too, as it already is in Malaysia. It
might be better t use the converter option rather than opening a new
parallel project.

If there's already a script converter, I do not see the need for a
separate Wikipedia. There already a few wikis with two or more scripts
working with different systems, like Ladino and Serbo-Croatian. We
don't need to reinvent the wheel :)

This request for "Standard Malay (Jawi)"
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages/Wikipedia_Standard_Malay_(Jawi)>
is a request to create a wiki for Malay written in Jawi, a writing
system based on the Arabic script. I don't think a separate wiki
would be eligible using the ISO code zsm, a different solution would
have to be found for that.
But, I also think the request should not be made eligible.
User:Ultron90 explained that there is already a script converter on
Malay Wikipedia. _______________________________________________
