Just out of curiousity, has anyone looked at the bitcoin protocol code yet? The protocol spec indicates a load of length fields and variable length data types, processing in the source looks scattered. Also some ad-hoc JSON is going on. Seems to me like a nice reference to demonstrate how langsec principles can be applied, i.e. Hammer (which is pretty awesome btw.).
